This is an example of a free standing shelving unit. All joints are formed and glued. There are no nails, screws or brackets holding the unit together. It has been hand stained and is used both for storage and as a work platform. A power strip is attached behind the appliances and most of the appliance are used where they stand. The unit has a footprint of 2' 4" by 3' and the top shelf is 7' 4-1/2" tall. As you can see, this unit is designed to maximize all available space. This same unit could be fully enclosed to achieve a cabinet look with the addition of a variety of different wall and door configurations.
